The Various Methods Of Mouse Deterrent
So in the last post we talked about all of the basics of mouse removal. Most of the information was based on keeping a home clean and eliminating a great deal of the problems. However, keeping a clean home is not always the entire battle. Sometimes, mice problems can call for further measures.
One of the most traditional methods of eliminating a mouse problem is using traps. You know, the ones that your parents used when you were a kid. Hopefully you remember these traps and that they were somewhat effective. Yup, they still work, but who wants to deal with all that mess anymore, I know that I don’t. I can’t stand handling dead creatures, especially dirty ones like mice. Yuck, I really don’t like the thoughts of that, but luckily there are a few other methods out there that are available.
One of those methods is sticky pads. These are really cool, humane rat catchers that can do so without harming the animal. That is, unless you end up forgetting to check the pad and the mouse dies of starvation or something like that. Anyways, the mouse steps on the pad and gets stuck, yippee. However, I still think that there are a few others out there that are better.
Depending on how you feel about ethics and actually killing mice, you may want to consider an electrical mouse trap. There are some really advanced items out there in this category. Most of them are basically boxes that you set out and the machine does the rest. The mouse climbs in, eventually enters a chamber and then gets electrocuted or something like that. These are a bit up there on the price though.
Then there is the good ole ultrasonic mouse deterrent. These little things are great because all that you have to do is set them out, turn them on, and the mice will be clawing to get out of the house.
