How To Keep Mice Away With Mouse Deterrent
If you have read a few of the other posts on this blog, then you have a decent idea about the many different forms of mouse deterrent out there that are used to get rid of rodents. If not, I will do a brief overview and sum things up in a few short sentences.
Ultrasonic Mouse Deterrents – A very humane method that repels mice by emitting high frequency sound waves that those pests simply cannot stand.
Natural Mouse Deterrents – Scents such as peppermint oil and other scents fall into this category along with have-a-hart live mouse traps. This oils and live traps are also considered humane.
Electronic Mouse Traps – these are definitely one of a kind. Many are in a box form that lure the mice in and then shocks them.
Conventional Mouse Deterrent Methods – Items in this category include regular traps and sticky pads.
Now that all of that information has been listed, it is time to discuss how they can be used to keep the mice from finding their way back into a home or area. Before we go and make fun of people, I would just like to go ahead and say that I have done this before. I had a bad mouse problem a few years ago when a field across the way was turned into a subdivision. I got rid of the mice and then just sat back thinking I had completed the job and had nothing else to worry about. As it turns out, the mice came back. I use myself as a perfect example for this particular situation. After observing what had happened, I decided that I should find a way to form a bubble or imaginary fence around my home using some product that was designed to keep mice away. I use either natural or ultrasonic methods to do this part. The scents have worked great for my situation to keep the mice away. I also have used a few of the best ultrasonic mouse control devices to try to repel those mice from coming back in. Many of them can operate all on their own out side wherever you would like to put them. Of course, there are going to be variations of placement according to personal preference. Also, many people believe that placing multiple units will increase the effectiveness of the devices as well.
