Mouse Deterrent - Which Method Works Best?
If you missed the last post, then you really missed a treat. We discussed the various methods of mouse deterrent and it was pretty fun if I have to say so myself. Today, there is a new subject on the agenda. In this particular section, I will be explaining or attempting to explain which method of mouse repellent works best.
I am big on gradually turning up the heat when it comes to pest removal. I like to start off small, and then gradually increase my efforts. I usually begin my strategic plan by setting out an ultrasonic mouse deterrent. I like to get the ones that plug into the wall because I am lazy and do not like purchasing batteries and worrying about when they will run out of juice. However, I do sometimes use the ones with batteries because they are more mobile that the ones that plug into the wall outlets. So I try just this deterrent for awhile and monitor the results for awhile. If I used to hear mice at night and still hear them when the ultrasonic repeller is turned on, then I might consider increasing my efforts. However, I do have to remind myself that this whole situation takes persistence for it to work and that it is not always such an easy fix. That goes with a lot of other things in life, but back to the plan. I then put some sticky pads out on the opposite side of the house from the ultrasonic pest repellent. This makes sense in my mind because if the ultrasonic mouse deterrent is working, then the mice should be moving away from it. So it seems permissible that they might be as far away from it as the house will allow, that is, if they have not left altogether. By this time, I usually have the condition manageable and the mice are beginning to become fewer and fewer. So in my opinion, it is not which method works best, it is finding the best combination of methods that work the best.
